I am choosing not to participate in this year's Triath-a-Ron. I'm not comfortable with the people who are running it.
I am the creator/maintainer of this comm, and I want to turn it over to whomever would like to take it on. All y'all are fabulous writers, and I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor.
Go Team Slash!
Well, Team Slash, we're down to the final day. Mine will be the last of our team's submissions. It's NOT an enviable position to be in, believe me.
I have to admit I never saw the popularity of Ron/Neville. By my count (and my maths is about as good as Jo's) five fics with Neville; three each with Harry (and 1/2 of one) and Draco (one with a trio with Viktor), one each with Seamus, Snape, James and Bill. Mine features Oliver.
The overall tone has been dark throughout the three teams. Egads. What's been your impression?
My fellow slashers, it's been real. We must have a pub night. Drinks and drabbles all around!
Finished! Praise the lord, I am finished at last! :) Unfortunately, it's not as good as I would have liked :( But oh well. I suck at deadlines.
How is everyone else doing? I have complete faith in our team. :D Go team slash!
I asked for beta help from my personal flist, but I figured I'd ask here, too. I'm willing to beta-swap, if you like. Or bake you scones. Or just publicly proclaim your awesomeness.
My fic is Harry/Ron war/post-war, angst and a whole lot of ramble. I am quite sure it sucks (is there a point in this fic? Somewhere? Probably not), but at this point it'll have to do, so we're talking general SPaG corrections/suggestions and salvage, not complete overhaul. I'd like to have it back by, say, Monday night (US Eastern) at the latest, so I can fix it by the deadline. Fic is ~8000 words/17 Word pages, with a few light R spots and otherwise PGish.
Anyone? Or is everyone too busy frantically finishing their own stories?
Sooooo....Team Slash! How goes it? Is the writing going well, so-so or not at all?
I must confess, I'm in the not-at-all category. A bit stuck. I think I may have found my *hook* today that will save my concept, but I'm still not writing.
It's okay. I get this way, and then I vomit up the story all in one sitting. It's an awful way to write, but sometimes I do my best work when the OMGFEAR!DEADLINELOOMS! feeling sets in.
Anything any of us can assist you with? Coffee? Chocolate?
If you haven't seen the look of the comm, go have a look! And then thank the lovely and talented <lj user=mamalaz> for creating a unique headline banner for us.
We also need y'all to pimp the Triatha-Ron on your LJs to find new team members, and not just for Team Slash (though, if you have a favorite slash author who hasn't signed up, go poke them). I think Team Slash has 5 openings. Signups run through Monday.
OH, and I'm not the mod here. We're all in this boat together.
This is the inaugural entry for this comm.
Obviously, I cannot do graphic design to save my soul, so I'm calling on my teammates to help out. Please....
Okay, Team Slash, this is the place for us to discuss strategy and give each other support and cheer each other on and provide plot bunnies when the Muse deserts us and beta read and generally make this the best team ever!
I look forward to playing with you all.
Go Team Slash!
